Pretending You’re Fine is Making You Sick

Let’s get real. To heal from physical ailments, not medicate or numb symptoms, requires honestly looking at our lives from a WHOLEistic perspective. No more parting ourselves out, let’s take a look at the bigger picture, shall we?

Because it’s time to get really honest when we suffer from the physical symptoms of stress overload and chronic nervous system dysregulation. Ask:

Am I overwhelmed?

Am I unfulfilled?

What emotional pain and I avoiding?

Who is living “rent free” in my head, ruminating over the past, and worrying about the future?

Chronic inflammatory conditions like pain, autoimmunity, skin and digestion issues SCREAM “notice me” “care for me” “stop ignoring me” “I need rest!” Are you finally ready to acknowledge and respond to your body’s cries for attention?

Or do you want to just keep on pretending your ok? That you’re not as important as every other person in your orbit? The signs will only get more intense, more severe.

Find ways to relax, to relate with others who you can be real with. Learn to reframe your emotional wounds into the fuel for becoming the healthy version of yourself you wish you were.

I am living proof. Diving deep into the roots of your physical pain leads you to your healthiest self. Find your people to support you. A health coach, a cognitive reframing therapist (or IFS) is a great place to start believing it’s possible.

Relational Healing via Ecstatic Dancing

Ecstatic dance in Newtown, Connecticut

I’m no stranger to isolation. It was a survival tactic for most of my life. Turning 50 nearly two years ago marked opening myself up to relational healing. Not alone! Among communities where our pain points overlapped in our quests for healthy relationships, not just romance, but ALL relating.

I’m also no stranger to dance as a potent healer, moving energies that otherwise can’t be moved by way of speaking. Emotions safely felt through movement are visceral, somatic, and primal. This is why I’ve been a fan of the mindful spaces that make the Ecstatic Dance international communities for over a decade. Mind you, I never really could connect beyond the dance floor until now.

For those who also relate to feeling isolated but long for connection. I invite you to join in. Ecstatic dance is a safe haven for self-expression, and somatic movement to help movers release inhibitions, process emotions, and connect spiritually or deeply with themselves and relating to others, as desired.

This is a sober and conscious space, where talking is left outside the dance floor and barefeet are encouraged to ground and feel the floor beneath our feet in celebration of our humanness.

Come with an open heart, intent to move, a clear mind, and curiosity to explore. No experience with dance necessary!

Here’s the link to join June 6th, from 6-8pm at the Newtown Wellness Collective.
